21 new Sprites are live — Fortnitemares brings Spooky Dash, Vampire, The Deer and Dumpster Dive
Fortnitemares is here. The v42.30 update went live on Thursday, October 1 after downtime from 1 AM to 3 AM PT / 4 AM to 6 AM ET, and it brought four brand-new Sprite powers to Chapter 7 Season 4: Spooky Dash, Vampire, The Deer, and Dumpster Dive. Each one shipped with its Gold, Cheat Master, Loot Hacker and Bounty Hunter set, and the Trick or Treat Crown came along for the ride. That is 21 new entries in the catalog on day one.
It is not the whole drop. Epic put 42 new Sprite entries into the files with this patch, and the rest unlock over the next two weeks.
Live right now
Spooky Dash — Dash into a fight or out of trouble with charges that replenish over time. The dash can phase through some objects, and the cooldown drops with each Level Up.
Vampire — Recover health as you damage enemies. The share you get back grows with each Level Up.
The Deer — Your melee attacks hit harder, and harder again with each Level Up. Pickaxe players, this one is yours.
Dumpster Dive — Jump into a hiding spot to find food, and food restores extra health while it is equipped.

Epic has not published rarities for the four new powers, so we will put them on the cards once the in-game text confirms them.
The Trick or Treat Crown
One more went live today, and it follows Crown rules. You cannot pull the Trick or Treat Crown from a code or a chest. You have to master the Bounty Hunter Crown first by winning a match with it equipped, and the Trick or Treat version unlocks after that.
Starting from scratch, that is six Victory Royales: Crown, Cheat Master, Gold, Loot Hacker, Bounty Hunter, then Trick or Treat. If you already mastered the Bounty Hunter Crown, check your collection — it should be waiting for you.
How to find them
Two new ways in, and one that no longer works:
- Pumpkin Chests. New this season and scattered across the Island. This is where the Fortnitemares Sprites live.
- Trick or Treat Cheats. Cheat Codes have become Trick or Treat Cheats. Input one and you might get an extra treat alongside your Sprite. The September 17 odds changes still apply, so Legendary codes are still the best bet for variants.
- Not the Admin Panel. Admin Panel codes cannot redeem the Fortnitemares Sprites, so do not burn them hoping for a Vampire.
Still locked
Trick or Treat variants — Thursday, October 8. Halloween versions of Sprites you already know, including Klombo, Sonic and Crash Bandicoot. The Crown is just the first one out the door.
Honey — Thursday, October 15. Sends bees after enemies who damage you.
Obsession — Thursday, October 15. Lets One Wish Willow help you collect other Sprites. Honey and Obsession are the last of the community #DesignASprite winners.
Same caveat as always: unreleased entries do not have confirmed rarities yet, and Epic has slipped Sprite unlocks before. We will post when they are actually live.
Power Hour this Saturday
Saturday, October 3 has a Power Hour where Bounty Hunter Sprites appear more often. With four new Bounty Hunters in the pool and elims the only way to level them, that is the day to chase them.
Tracking and trading them
All 21 are in the catalog with artwork and full cards. Mark each one Missing, Collected, or Mastered from the website or with the slash commands in Discord, and the locked Trick or Treat entries will light up here as they unlock.
If Pumpkin Chests are not being kind to you, trade for what you are missing. Anything you own can be offered in a trade with members of a Discord server you share.
